BONIFACE LEADS THE FIGHT AGAINST DATA CENTERS
On Sunday, April 19, Billy Boniface joined other concerned citizens near Fallston to discuss the proposed development of a Data Center on Mountain Branch Golf Course near Fallston. Boniface had the opportunity to provide his insight as a member of the Farm Bureau and a longtime advocate for land preservation.
“As a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau, we stand in strong opposition to data centers on agricultural and forestry land,” Boniface said. “This policy prioritizes preserving land from development that degrades property values, environmental health, and water/electric capacity. The policy also supports maintaining local jurisdiction over zoning.”
“In my opinion, these data centers have no business being on farmland or near residential areas, and even just limiting them to industrial sites is problematic given the amount of energy and water they require. There are far too many questions about these projects to consider permitting them anywhere in this county, which is why I do not support them.”
“The strong likelihood is that the State will take steps to overrule local zoning on data centers, just like they have done with solar. We need Harford’s officials – County Executive, County Council, and State delegation – to stand together in opposition, and as Council President I will bring us together to do just that. It’s time we Republicans stop fighting among ourselves and start fighting for our citizens.”
HARFORD GLEN – EDUCATION, NOT INDOCTRINATION
Billy Boniface has issued the following statement regarding Harford Glen:
“Like most of you, I’m appalled by the news that overnight accommodations at Harford Glen are apparently being assigned not by biological sex but by “gender identity” (whatever that is). Although I wasn’t asked where I stand by the group that is circulating this info, I feel like this is an important issue and you need to know.
In short, this is crazy.
I can’t believe it even needs to be said, but teenage boys should not be allowed to bunk with elementary school girls. The school system has a duty to protect our kids, and the fact that parents have been kept in the dark about this policy is infuriating. Harford Glen is an incredible asset to the county and provides invaluable educational opportunities. But until this is changed, the county should withhold funding.
One of the most important jobs of the County Council is to provide oversight in how our tax dollars are spent. As Council President I will only support nominees who represent our values to be Board of Ed members or to serve as the council’s official liaison to HCPS.”
HARFORD DEPUTIES UNION ENDORSES BONIFACE FOR COUNCIL PRESIDENT
The Harford County Deputy Sheriff’s Union has today announced that they are endorsing Billy Boniface for Harford County Council President in the June 23 Republican Primary Election.
“I can’t thank the members of the Harford County Deputy Sheriff’s Union enough for their confidence in me,” Boniface said. “Our deputies, correctional officers and all the support personnel in the Sheriff’s Office work tirelessly to keep Harford County safe. I will always have your back and all the law enforcement agencies throughout this county!”
