About Billy
Billy Boniface, a lifelong resident of Harford County, is co-owner and co-manager of Bonita Farm, a horse breeding, boarding, and training operation in Darlington.

In 2006, Boniface was elected Harford County Council President, standing on a platform of agricultural preservation and conservative fiscal oversight. He was re-elected in 2010. During his two terms, he voted to reduce the tax rate three times, saving taxpayers over $200 million.

From 2014-2020 he served as the Harford County Director of Administration, overseeing the county’s budget and streamlining operations. During this time the county’s budget growth and debt obligations were lowered to sustainable levels, and the government workforce was reduced by 14%.

Billy currently serves as a director on the Harford Farm Bureau, previously serving on the Maryland Ag Land Preservation Foundation board and as chair of the Maryland Young Farmers Advisory Board, having been appointed by Gov. Bob Ehrlich.

He is a former volunteer firefighter, and has been involved in many community organizations and causes, including the Dublin/Darlington Recreation Council, Harford Land Trust, Deer Creek Watershed Association, and 4-H. Billy and his wife founded and administer the Ben Boniface Memorial Fund in honor of their late son to promote active participation in outdoor activities and an appreciation of the scenic beauty in the Deer Creek Valley and elsewhere in Harford County.

Billy married his high school sweetheart Barbara in 1982 and raised their three children, Billy, Benjamin, and Bethany, on the family farm in Darlington. In 2022 Billy and Barb became grandparents, welcoming their favorite little farmhand, Brooks.
